Are you being tested?
Are you being tested?💪
Many of us are faced with circumstances that push us to our limit. We are challenged to endure hardships, to make or to live with tough decisions. We often wonder, should I give up? Is all this worth it? Can I make it through? Many times we are going through tests and we are very unaware. Concerning Genesis 22, Abraham was pushed to the limit. This exposed his commitment to God. How many of us would have obeyed God to sacrifice our only son? Naturally, that would be an almost impossible task. However, Abraham in faith knew that God would have made away; even if his son was sacrificed it would have been for the greater good. Abraham could have easily dismissed the request. Our testing will always produce a testimony!
What should be the heart’s attitude during a test?
One of obedience:
During a test, we must be obedient to God. This is the only way we can successfully navigate the paths or journeys during a test. Jesus said, "anyone who loves me will obey my teaching(John 14:23).” Success during our tests will also be determined by how much we love God and the diligence in doing what he says. It is very easy to get distracted during a test but, remember, let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised-Heb.10:23).
Knowing the voice of God:
Abraham had to know the voice of God to not have dismissed the request. It did not sound like God but it was God. We must be able to recognize God’s voice. John 10:27 says “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me” 10:5 further went on to say “And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.” God will never lead you into failure. You will pass your test; no matter how difficult it may seem now.
What is the situation? What is your test? What is it that you need to learn coming out of this test? We do not encounter tests by accident. Know that everything will work out for our good if we trust God.
