Generational wealth is biblical...stop hating on it!

Leaving an inheritance is the definition of true care.

We are in the age when people speak about money, wealth, or having the finer things of life, they are frowned upon. In all we seek to achieve, our highest aim should always be to leave a mark, a legacy from which those after us can benefit. It is not always selfish ambitions. Also, I am in no way projecting that this can only be done through financial means. Take a few minutes to assess your life, can you safely say you have built a legacy that your children or children's children can inherit? Some of us may not be able to answer confidently. Many of us have just been working for our ends, our joy, or seeming satisfaction. Shape your efforts in such a way where your labour will not be in vain.

What are generational wealth and its biggest misconception?

Generational wealth is often referred to as the transference or passing down of assets from one generation to the next. The business-minded will tell you that assets are basically anything of economic value. Therefore, a father or family leaving behind a house or land would remove the strain or stresses of acquiring a home or land for their child or children. Generational wealth is biblical. Yes, it is practiced in many countries and societies but greater efforts need to be made to reduce the struggles young people face in trying to live a better life. "A good man leaves an inheritance for his children's children (Proverbs 13:22)." You do NOT need 30 million dollars to make a head start on creating generational wealth. Whilst this is contrary to what you may think, start brainstorming ways in which you can assist your lineage. The focus is no longer on us or about us, it is about those who will come from us.

Having thought about generational wealth, I believe this generation is lacking not in financial access and possession but rather, spiritual wealth, emotional wealth, and physical wealth.

Types of generational wealth that came to mind include and is not limited to:

1. A lineage of good thoughts and positive thinking.

2. A lineage of hard work and good stewardship of resources.

3. A lineage of good values and attitudes

4. A lineage of social responsiveness

5. A lineage of creativity and inspiration

6. A lineage of trustworthiness, honesty, and peace

7. A lineage of being free to fulfill God's predestined purpose.

What legacy are you leaving behind? Will you cause your children to suffer the same fate you have? What is your game-plan to make a change? Generational Wealth is biblical...Stop hating it! It ultimately benefits you.

  8. I was deeply inspired by your message and would like to take the time to remind young people like myself to set goals and work hard for what they want so that it will benefit your children and grandchildren. We should also not think only about the finanancial wealth, but the spiritual, emotional and physical wealth

  19. This is very important and informative. The way many of us think and live has been influenced by our foreparents and many of them didn't leave behind a beneficial legacy.
